Sarah Sedlacek

Sarah Sedlacek, MA, PLMHP

Sarah is oriented toward people and what makes them uniquely beautiful. She desires to walk gently with individuals toward healing and security, acknowledging the values, relationships, and distinct strengths that make up each person. Motivated to create a safe therapeutic relationship, Sarah believes being genuine, curious, comfortable with the hard, and appropriately humorous is integral to counseling. Sarah enjoys working with young adults and those in life transitions.

Sarah received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College. This CACREP-accredited program has equipped Sarah to apply skills within an integrative array of approaches: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment-theory, and narrative work, to name a few. She is also EMDR trained from an EMDRIA-approved facilitator. An advocate for the integration of faith in counseling, Sarah believes this is powerful, yet delicate, work and can lead to great healing when embedded with wisdom and discernment. Sarah counts it as an honor to make a space where uncomfortable, taboo, or silenced feelings and topics are safe to explore.

When not seeing clients, Sarah enjoys making new Spotify playlists, exploring different state parks, and visiting local shops with friends and family. Spending the past two years in Chicago, IL, Sarah is excited to be back in her home state of Nebraska to watch 360-degree sunsets, eat a Runza, and navigate the “sea of red” in order to find a good seat at a coffee shop on game days.
